Luke 6:38

38“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-11

6Now this [I say], he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7Each one [must do] just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly orunder compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for everygood deed;

9as it is written, "HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESSENDURES FOREVER."

10Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seedfor sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; 11you will be enriched in everythingfor all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

vs 6 - 6Now this [I say], he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

So how does this work?  Giving is NOT magic

Magic is manipulation of an impersonal force through ritual and force of will.

Our God is a PERSON NOT an impersonal force - his blessing in our lives is an outflow of our relationship with Him.  So we need to know what moves God’s heart -
